Mr Percival Trotter - Station Master

Mr Percival Trotter has been Station Master for so long that no one is quite sure when he started, or whether he ever officially applied. He simply arrived one morning with a whistle, a timetable, and a strong opinion about punctuality, and has been in charge ever since.

He knows every train, every delay, and every passenger’s habits, and considers it his moral duty to comment on all three. Though the station is now mostly quiet, Mr Trotter continues to behave as if a royal visit is imminent. He polishes signs no one reads, straightens benches already straight, and records minor incidents in a notebook marked “Important Matters.”

Privately, he believes the railway is the last true measure of civilisation—and that he is its final guardian.
